PICK A PUMPKIN

Although we at ChatterboxBeach continue to cling to summer, our crafting projects have taken a turn towards fall.

We’ve been using materials such as wine corks, cotton textiles, burlap, and seashells to create all things pumpkin.

I like traditional orange, but some of us are experimenting with a variety of colors including sleek black-and-white. Whimsical polka dots and swirl patterns on the cotton fabrics add a pleasant texture to the creations, which vary in size from small to medium. We are finding that driftwood, brown paper bags, and straw-shaped cardboard materials make excellent stems.

For those who shop with us at the Orange Blossom in Hampstead, NC, we are finishing up some painted furniture pieces. Currently in the shop are an end table and a dresser. Come by and browse.
